The "The Traveller Website" (www.traveller.com.au) has named the Esala Perahera of the 'Sri Dalada Maligawa' in Kandy among the 5 most spectacular views in the world.
 
The website said that there are no exceptional cultural dances and features of the Dalada Perahera which can not be seen anywhere in the world.

It is said that if you wish to visit Sri Lanka in August it is a must to visit Kandy and watch the Esala Perahera of the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

The website states that the city of Kandy is full of white for the Esala Perahera of the the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a spectacular view of the elephants and the upcountry dancers to decorate the procession. The Kandy Esala Perahera lasts for ten days while various festivities can be witnessed right throughout.

And further the website has stated that it is an extraordinary parade of musicians, dancers, singers, acrobats and various other performers accompanied by a large number of caparisoned Tuskers and Elephants parading the streets in celebration of a religious event.
